Conn. Agencies Regs. § 29-276b-3 - Qualifications for persons performing testing of construction materials and structural members or assemblies
(a) Each
professional engineer licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 391
who has been designated to supervise the testing of construction materials and
structural members or assemblies for a testing laboratory operated by any
person, firm or corporation licensed under the provisions of Chapter 391 shall
be qualified for each separate area of inspection and testing of such materials
and members or assemblies either by having successfully completed at least one
course at an accredited institute of higher education or an accredited training
seminar in the specific subject matter of that testing procedure or by having
performed testing of construction materials and structural members or
assemblies in a testing laboratory for at least three years.
(b) The supervising professional engineer for
a laboratory facility operated by any person, firm or corporation licensed
under the provisions of Chapter 391 shall be responsible for the instruction of
the technicians performing tests in the laboratory as needed and shall provide
for the evaluation of the performance of each technician performing tests in
the laboratory on an annual basis. The supervising professional engineer shall
maintain records of the results of these evaluations and shall provide the
records to the Board of Examiners for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
of the Department of Consumer Protection upon the Board's request.
