Fla. Admin. Code Ann. R. 62-296.408 - Nitric Acid Plants
These limits are applicable to emissions units producing weak nitric acid (50 to 70 percent) by pressure or atmospheric pressure process.
(1) Visible emissions - shall
not exceed 10 percent opacity.
(2)
Nitrogen Oxides - emissions shall not exceed 3 pounds per ton of acid produced
(100 percent basis).
(3) Test
Methods and Procedures. All emissions tests performed pursuant to the
requirements of this rule shall comply with the following requirements.
(a) The test method for visible emissions
shall be EPA Method 9, as described at 40 C.F.R. Part 60, Appendix A-4, adopted
and incorporated by reference at Rule
62-204.800, F.A.C.
(b) The test methods for nitrogen oxides
emissions shall be EPA Methods 7, 7A, 7B, 7C, or 7D, as described at 40 C.F.R.
Part 60, Appendix A-4, adopted and incorporated by reference at rule
62-204.800, F.A.C. The minimum
sample volume shall be as specified in EPA Method 7. Four grab samples at 15
minute intervals (±2 minutes) per run required.
(c) Test procedures shall meet all applicable
requirements of Chapter 62-297, F.A.C.
