Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 480-29-.04 - Requirements of Holders of Pharmacy Permits for a College of Pharmacy
(1) Except as
provided herein, the holder of a pharmacy permit for a college of pharmacy
shall be exempt from requirements otherwise applicable to pharmacies, including
but not limited to those contained in Chapter 480-10 of these Rules and
Regulations.
(2) The holder of a
pharmacy permit for a college of pharmacy shall not engage in the sale or
dispensing of drugs.
(3) The
Director of Pharmacy shall be responsible for the security and proper storage
of all controlled substances and dangerous drugs and shall exercise diligent
care in protecting such drugs from loss or theft.
(4) The holder of a pharmacy permit for a
college of pharmacy shall comply with all applicable federal laws and
regulations regarding the handling of controlled substances.
(5) The Director of Pharmacy shall prepare a
policy and procedure manual with respect to the purchase, receipt, possession,
and disposal of drugs and their proper security. The Director of Pharmacy shall
make the manual, as well as any other records maintained by the pharmacy owned
and operated by the college of pharmacy, available for inspection, copying, or
examination by agents of the Board.
(6) A pharmacy owned and operated by a
college of pharmacy may be inspected at the discretion of the Board to ensure
the continued compliance with applicable law and these rules and
regulations.
