Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 375-3-1-.27 - Proving Identity Using a Birth Certificate from Puerto Rico
(1) In accordance
with Article 6 of Law 191 of 2009 (as amended by Law 68 of 2010), Puerto Rico
Governor Luis G. Fortuño signed an executive order extending the validity of
all Puerto Rico birth certificates issued before July 1, 2010 until October 30,
2010. According to the laws of Puerto Rico, only the new Puerto Rico birth
certificates issued from July 1, 2010 onward will remain valid. Effective
January 1, 2011, the Department shall not accept a birth certificate issued in
Puerto Rico prior to July 1, 2010 as proof of a customer's identity for any
purpose.
