Ill. Admin. Code tit. 23, § 33.20 - Purpose and Applicability

a)
This Part sets forth the requirements for the approval of programs to provide
individuals with the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to implement a
systems-orientation approach to educational leadership, financial oversight,
school management, and parental and community involvement.
b) Requirements of this Part are in addition
to the requirements for the approval of new educator preparation programs set
forth in 23 Ill. Adm. Code 25.Subpart C.
c) Candidates successfully completing a
superintendent preparation program shall obtain a superintendent endorsement on
a professional educator license and are eligible to work as superintendents or
assistant superintendents.
d) No
later than September 1, 2019, all programs for the preparation of
superintendents shall meet the requirements set forth in this Part.
e) Beginning September 1, 2016, institutions
or not-for-profit entities may admit new candidates only to superintendent
preparation programs that have been approved under this Part.
