Ill. Admin. Code tit. 41, § 141.10 - Purpose

a) The Illinois Fire Protection Training Act [50 ILCS 740 ] requires the Office of the State Fire Marshal to establish training programs and to assist the development of training of firefighters throughout the State. Section 1 of the Act requires the Office, in a Division of Personnel Standards and Education, to encourage and aid municipalities, counties and other local governmental agencies of this State in their efforts to raise the level of local fire protection by upgrading and maintaining a high level of training for fire protection personnel. It is declared to be the responsibility of the Office of the State Fire Marshal to encourage the participation of local governmental units in the programs established by the Office and to aid in the establishment of adequate training facilities.
b) Subpart D of this Part specifies the requirements to obtain State certification from the Office and Subpart E describes the opportunities for local governments to request reimbursement for training expenses.
