Ill. Admin. Code tit. 89, § 402.20 - Education
a) Foster parents
shall encourage each child to complete high school or vocational training in
accordance with his or her aptitude. Foster parents shall cooperate with the
supervising agency in the child's educational plan.
b) Children shall be permitted and encouraged
to participate in extra-curricular activities including sports, art and music
to the extent of their interests, abilities, and talents. Foster parents are
expected to use normalcy parenting and the reasonable and prudent parent
standard for decision-making regarding the child's participation in these
activities.
c) The supervising
agency shall ensure that the foster parents shall maintain contact with those
serving the educational needs of their children and seek their cooperation to
assure that:
1) children are placed in
appropriate grades and program; and
2) there is periodic evaluation of individual
children.
d) The
supervising agency shall ensure that each child is provided with the necessary
school supplies, materials and equipment.
