Sec. 16.
(a) The
maximum area for any sign face of any sign erected after October 4, 1971, shall
be one thousand (1,000) square feet, with the maximum height of twenty-five
(25) feet and the maximum length of sixty (60) feet, exclusive of any border,
trim, ornamental base, apron, or embellishments, if the total area of the
exclusions do not exceed twenty percent (20%) of the sign's total area for its
sign face plus all such exclusions.
(b) The sign's area shall be measured by the
smallest square, rectangle, triangle, circle, or combination thereof that will
encompass the area affected.
(c) A
sign that is not a changeable message sign may display up to two (2)
advertisements per facing, not to exceed the maximum area for any sign face and
exclusions calculated in accordance with subsection (a).
(d) A double-faced structure that is not a
changeable message sign will be allowed, with the maximum area being
permissible for each sign face and exclusions relating thereto. A double-faced
structure can be a stacked sign or a side-by-side sign.
