511 IAC 7-44-3 - Removals of more than 10 cumulative days that do not result in a change of placement

Sec. 3.

(a) When a student has been removed for more than ten (10) cumulative instructional days in the same school year, but the removals do not constitute a pattern that results in a change of placement under section 2(b)(2) of this rule, school personnel, in consultation with at least one (1) of the student's teachers, determine the extent to which services are needed to enable the student to do the following:
(1) Continue to participate in the general education curriculum, although in another setting.
(2) Progress toward meeting the goals set out in the student's IEP.
(b) The services required by subsection (a) may be provided in an interim alternative education.
