Iowa Admin. Code r. 281-41.115 - Continuum of alternative services and placements
(1)
General. Each public agency must ensure that a continuum of
alternative services and placements is available to meet the needs of children
with disabilities for special education and related services.
(2)
Requirements. The
continuum required in subrule 41.115(1) must meet the following requirements:
a. Include the alternative placements listed
in the definition of special education under rule
281-41.39 (256B, 34CFR300)
(instruction in regular classes, special classes, special schools, home
instruction, and instruction in hospitals and institutions); and
b. Make provision for supplementary services,
such as resource room or itinerant instruction, to be provided in conjunction
with regular class placement.
