Iowa Code r. 641-127.10 - Confidentiality

Records and reports of a medical examiner may be confidential records pursuant to Iowa Code sections 22.7(2), 22.7(5), and 22.7(41) and other provisions of Iowa law. Prior to releasing a medical examiner record or report to a member of the public, a county medical examiner may inform the appropriate law enforcement agency, the county attorney, and the state medical examiner to determine whether release is authorized under Iowa law.
