Kan. Admin. Regs. § 112-110-5 - Central computer system; software validation
(a) Each CCS shall be programmed to initiate
a signature validation when an EGM is enrolled.
(b) If an EGM fails the signature validation,
the EGM shall not be placed into gaming mode without manual intervention at the
CCS level.
(c) One of the following
two methods of storing signature check references shall be implemented in the
CCS:
(1) Game software image storage in which
game software images existing in the EGM are also stored in the CCS;
or
(2) precalculated signature
results storage in which the table of signature results have a minimum of five
entries and those entries are generated from randomly selected seed values for
each game and repopulated on a daily basis. The utility program used to
generate the signature check result table shall be approved by the Kansas
lottery and the commission 's electronic security staff.
(d) The game software image and precalculated
signature results shall be secured, including by means of password protection
and file encryption.
(e) If the
image used for validating the EGM software is comprised of more than one
program, both of the following requirements shall be met:
(1) The CCS shall have a method to allow each
component to be loaded individually.
(2) The CCS shall combine the individual
images based upon the scheme supplied by the EGM manufacturer to create the
combined image.
