401 KAR 50:040 - Air quality models
RELATES TO: KRS Chapter 224
NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY: KRS 224.10-100 requires the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet to prescribe administrative regulations for the prevention, abatement, and control of air pollution. This administrative regulation specifies general provisions for the use of air quality models.
Section 1. Air Quality Models.
(1) All estimates of ambient concentrations
required under the administrative regulations of the Division for Air Quality
shall be based on the applicable air quality models, data bases, and other
requirements specified in the "Guidelines on Air Quality Models" (OAQPS
1.2-080, U. S. EPA, Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards), filed by
reference in
401 KAR 50:015.
(2) Where an air quality impact model
specified in the "Guideline on Air Quality Models" is inappropriate, the model
may be modified or another model substituted subject to the approval of the
cabinet.
(3) Methods like those
outlined in the "Workbook for the Comparison of Air Quality Models" (OAQPS No.
1.2-097, U. S. EPA, Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards), filed by
reference in
401 KAR 50:015, shall be used to determine the comparability
of air quality models.
