La. Admin. Code tit. 33, § XV-736 - Safety Instruction
A. A
licensee shall provide oral and written radiation safety instruction for all
personnel caring for patients or human research subjects undergoing
radiopharmaceutical therapy. Refresher training shall be provided at intervals
not to exceed one year.
B. To
satisfy Subsection A of this Section, the instruction shall describe the
licensee 's procedures for:
1. patient or
human research subject control;
2.
visitor control, including:
a. routine
visitation to hospitalized individuals in accordance with LAC 33:XV.421.A.1;
and
b. visitation authorized in
accordance with LAC 33:XV.421.C;
3. contamination control;
4. waste control;
5. notification of the radiation safety
officer, or his or her designee, and an authorized user , in the case of the
patient's or human research subject's death or medical emergency; and
6. LAC 33:XV.Chapter 10 training
requirements.
C. A
licensee shall keep a record of individuals receiving instruction required by
Subsection A of this Section, a description of the instruction, the date of
instruction, and the name of the individual who gave the instruction. Such
record shall be maintained for inspection by the department for two
years.
