La. Admin. Code tit. 49, § I-974 - Sausage Ingredients, No n-Meat Components [Formerly 49:3.1904]
A. Under
appropriate label declaration, sausage may contain not more than 3.5 percent
individually or collectively, of cereal, vegetable starch, starchy vegetable
flour, dried milk, dried skim milk, soya flour, or any other fillers, extenders
or binders approved by the department. For the purpose of facilitating
grinding, chopping and mixing, not more than 10 percent of water or ice may be
added to the sausage, unless otherwise prohibited by these
regulations.
