La. Admin. Code tit. 56, § V-509 - Methods and Standards for Plugging Abandoned Drilled Water Well and Hole
A. The standards
and methods discussed herein are intended to:
1. prevent seepage from the surface into
fresh water aquifers;
2. prevent
the movement of fluids from one aquifer to another; and
3. remove all health and safety hazards.
Because of variable hydrologic conditions, differences in well construction,
depth and size, and the irregular occurrence of saline water sands, the
contents of these standards and methods cannot cover every possible
situation.
