01-001 C.M.R. ch. 342, § IV - Construction / Maintenance of Grounds and Premises
A. The grounds around all plants shall be
reasonably clean and well drained, free from any materials or conditions that
attract rodents birds or insects and free from other nuisances and sources of
contamination. Manure shall not be allowed within 100 feet of the plant. Manure
stored or spread in the area shall be managed in such a manner that there is no
risk of contamination of ground water, apples or the plant.
B. No pumice shall be stored within fifty
feet of a plant. Pumice storage and disposal in the vicinity shall be
undertaken in a sanitary manner.
C.
Sewage and waste water from any plant shall be disposed in a sanitary manner
into a lawfully operated private or public system.
