Md. Code Regs. 10.67.06.19 - Benefits - Family Planning Services
A. An MCO shall provide to its enrollees
comprehensive family planning services, including but not limited to medically
necessary office visits and laboratory tests, all FDA-approved contraceptive
devices, methods, and supplies, and voluntary sterilizations.
B. An MCO may place appropriate limits on
family planning services for the purpose of utilization control, provided that
the services are provided in a manner that protects and enables the enrollee's
freedom to choose the method of family planning to be used consistent with
42 CFR §
441.20.
C. An MCO may not apply a copayment or
coinsurance requirement for contraceptive drugs or devices.
D. An MCO shall provide coverage for a single
dispensing of a supply of prescription contraceptives for a 12-month
period.
