105 CMR, § 430.102 - Camp Director Requirements
Each recreational camp for children shall have at the camp at all times a director who meets the following:
(A)
Residential
Camp. Each residential camp shall have a director who is 25 years
of age or older and who meets at least one of the following:
(1) Successful completion of a course in
camping administration such as those offered by national professional camping
associations, national agencies or their equivalent, or
(2) At least two seasons of previous
experience working as part of an administrative staff of a recreational camp
for children.
(B)
Day Camp. Each day camp shall have a director who is
21 years of age or older and who meets at least one of the following:
(1) Successful completion of a course in
camping administration such as those offered by national professional camping
associations, national agencies, or their equivalent, or
(2) At least two seasons of previous
experience working as part of the administrative staff of a recreational camp
for children.
(C)
Primitive, Travel and Trip Camps. Each primitive,
travel and trip camp shall have a director who shall:
(1) Be 25 years of age or older;
and
(2) Possess demonstrated proof
of experience supervising a recreational camp for children in similar camping
activities.
(D) The
operator shall inform all staff on duty as to who is responsible for
administration of the camp at any given time. In the event of the absence of
the director, the director or operator shall appoint a designee who shall be at
the camp at all times. The designee shall meet the qualifications as required
by 105 CMR 430.102(A), (B) or (C).
