IFC Section 704 is amended by adding a section to read:
704.3
Compliance alternative.
Protection of vertical openings that do not serve as part of the required means
of egress conforming to the requirements of NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) shall
be deemed to be in compliance with this code.
