Signs authorized to be erected and maintained within the control area are listed as follows:
1.
Specially Authorized signs and notices as set out in Section 1700
herein.
2. Signs advertising the
sale or lease of property upon which they are located.
3. Signs advertising the principal activities
conducted on the property upon which they are located.
4. Signs located in areas which are zoned
industrial or commercial as defined herein.
5. Signs located in unzoned commercial or
industrial areas as defined herein.
6. Signs which locate, identify, mark or warn
of the presence of pipelines, utility lines or rail and appurtenances thereto,
including, but not limited to, markers used in maintenance, operation,
observation and safety of said facilities.
7. Grandfathered signs are allowed to remain
and shall be maintained as set out in Section 1300 until they are abandoned,
destroyed or purchased by the State. However, a Grandfathered sign that is
permittable under this Rule may be permitted as set out in Section 500, and
those permitted shall be treated as a permitted sign from that time
forward.
8. Nonconforming signs are
allowed to remain and shall be maintained as set out in Section 1300 until they
are abandoned, destroyed or purchased by the State.
