Mont. Admin. R. 20.27.248 - INMATE RIGHTS
(1) The facility
must have written policy, procedure and practice to ensure the right of inmates
to have:
(a) access to courts and legal
counsel;
(b) access to a law
library, or a person trained in the law;
(c) reasonable access with media subject to
limitations necessary to maintain order and security and protect inmates'
privacy; and
(d) protection from
unreasonable searches.
(2) The facility must have written policy,
procedure and practice that protect inmates from personal abuse, corporal
punishment, personal injury, disease, property damage, and
harassment.
(3) The facility must
have a written inmate grievance procedure that is made available to all
inmates. The procedure must include at least one level of appeal.
