N.H. Admin. Code § Env-Dw 504.07 - Service Line and Water Meter Installation and Maintenance Policy

(a) Unless the PWS has adopted formal rules to the contrary, the service line and service meter policy shall be as follows:
(1) The owner of a PWS shall be responsible for the service line from the water main to the curb stop;
(2) The service customer shall be responsible for the service line from the curb stop to the customer's premises; and
(3) The owner of a PWS shall be responsible for any required service meters.
(b) The owner of a PWS shall select, size, install, and maintain all required water meters in accordance with:
(1) The specifications of the manufacturer; and
(2) The procedures and protocols described in "Manual of Water Supply Practices, Water Meters - Selection, Installation, Testing, and Maintenance," document identification number AWWA M6, American Water Works Association, 2012, available as noted in Appendix C.
