N.H. Admin. Code § Pari 808.07 - Withdrawals and Scratches
(a) The
withdrawal of a greyhound:
(1) Shall be made
only by the trainer of record; and
(2) Is irrevocable until the greyhound is
re-entered.
(b) A
withdrawal of a greyhound shall be made:
(1)
To the racing secretary;
(2) At
least one-half hour before the time designated for the drawing of post
positions.
(c) A
greyhound shall be scratched by the board when the greyhound:
(1) Has at weigh-in a difference of more than
one and one-half pounds between the racing weight established pursuant to
Pari
808.08(a) and its weigh-in
weight;
(2) Has at weigh-in a
difference of more than 2 pounds between its weight at the time of its last
weigh-in and the present weigh-in;
(3) Unless specifically declared by the
commission veterinarian to be medically fit to race, shows at weigh-out a loss
of more than 2 pounds from its weight at weigh-in;
(4) Does not appear at weigh-in within the
time permitted by Pari
808.09(c);
(5) Is determined by the commission
veterinarian to be unfit to race because of sickness or injury; or
(6) Was entered erroneously by the racing
secretary.
(d) The
reasons for scratches shall be reported promptly by the paddock judge to the
board.
(e) When a greyhound is
scratched pursuant to (c)(4) or (c)(5) above, it shall run in official
schooling races in accordance with the standards set forth in
Pari
808.04.
