N.H. Admin. Code § Pari 808.08 - Racing Weights
(a) Before the
first race run by a greyhound on the racing premises, the dog's racing weight
shall be established as follows:
(1) If the
first race run on the racing premises is an official schooling race, the racing
weight shall be the weight chosen by the owner or the trainer of record;
and
(2) If the first race run on
the racing premises is a purse race, the racing weight shall be the racing
weight at the last purse race run by the greyhound.
(b) The trainer of record shall report the
racing weight of a greyhound to the clerk of scales.
(c) The racing weight established as
described in (a) above shall be changed upon the written submission of a new
weight by the trainer of record to the clerk of scales.
(d) The eligibility of a greyhound to run a
race after a change in racing weight as described in (c) above shall be :
(1) Immediate eligibility to run an official
schooling race if the greyhound has run no races for at least 3 weeks;
and
(2) Eligibility to run both
official schooling races and purse races 3 days or more after the change in
racing weight.
(e) If
the new racing weight established as described in (c) above is more than one
pound different from the old weight, the greyhound shall be schooled before the
greyhound runs a purse race.
