N.J. Admin. Code § 13:20-39.6 - Non-profit status

(a) Upon seeking approval to have special motor vehicle registration plates prepared for its members who wish to apply for same pursuant to this subchapter, an organization shall submit to the Motor Vehicle Commission proof that it is a non-profit organization and such other information as the Motor Vehicle Commission may require.
(b) To prove its non-profit status, an organization shall submit to the Motor Vehicle Commission a photocopy of the approval letter issued to the organization by the United States Internal Revenue Service which confirms the organization's status as non-profit, and shall certify by affidavit that the photocopy is of the authentic document issued by the United States Internal Revenue Service to that organization.
(c) An organization shall provide a copy of its charter to the Motor Vehicle Commission upon seeking approval to have special motor vehicle registration plates prepared for its members who wish to apply for same. The charter shall indicate the organization's lawful purpose.
