N.J. Admin. Code § 14:18-13.1 - Initiation of municipal-consent-based franchise renewal process

(a) Municipal-consent-based franchise renewal procedures shall commence in either of two ways:
1. Either the municipality or the cable television operator may commence a municipal fact finding process (ascertainment) by filing notice with the Office and the other party (municipality or cable television operator) between 36 and 30 months prior to the expiration of the Certificate of Approval; or
2. If no notice is filed pursuant to (a)l above, the cable television operator shall commence the process by filing an application for municipal consent between 12 and nine months prior to the expiration of the Certificate of Approval.
