N.J. Admin. Code § 18:7-8.6 - Average value; computation period
(a) Average value
is generally computed on a quarterly basis where the taxpayer's usual
accounting practice permits such computation.
(b) At the option of the taxpayer or the
Director, a more frequent basis (monthly, weekly, or daily) may be used. Where
the taxpayer's usual accounting practice does not permit computation of average
value on a quarterly or more frequent basis, a semi-annual or annual basis may
be used where no distortion of average value results. If any basis other than
quarterly is used on the return, such basis and the reasons therefor must be
fully explained on a separate rider.
