N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. Tit. 12 §§ 4-9.5 - Burner flame failure controls
(a)
Input rating under 400,000 Btu. For burners with an input rating less than
400,000 Btu per hour, the main gas valve shall close automatically within 90
seconds after flame failure.
(b)
Input rating of 400,000 Btu plus. For burners with an input rating of 400,000
Btu per hour or more, the electrical circuit to the main fuel valve shall be
automatically de-energized within four seconds after flame failure and the
de-energized valve shall automatically close within the next five
seconds.
