N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. Tit. 12 § 43.12 - Tripping hazard
The owner of a machine exposed for normal operation shall not suffer or permit any floor or other areas open to occupation or traversal by employes or other persons to be obstructed by pipes, hose, cables, wiring or projections, nor to have protruding nails, splinters, holes, depressions or loose or broken surfaces likely to cause tripping.
