Ohio Admin. Code 1501:9-1-07 - Prevention of contamination and pollution
(A) All persons engaged in any phase of
operation of any well or wells shall conduct such operation or operations in a
manner which will not contaminate or pollute the surface of the land, or water
on the surface or in the subsurface
(B) In urbanized areas, to minimize off-site
sedimentation, erosion and to control the surface flow of water, the well owner
and or authorized representative must follow the best management practices
(BMPs) for oil and gas well site construction manual, as defined in rule 1501:9-1-01 of the Administrative
Code
dated April 30, 2005 that can be located
at http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/mineral/oil/index.html or by contacting the
division of mineral resources management, as provided by the chief.
BMPs and other design standards other than provided by the chief maybe used if
a well owner or their authorized representative demonstrates that the
alternative BMP or practices minimize erosion to the same degree as the BMP's
provided by the chief.
