Ohio Admin. Code 3364-71-03 - Class rank
The university recognizes the role of class rank as part of its definition of satisfactory academic progress towards degree completion. Class rank is based upon the number of credit hours earned cumulatively:
Freshman |
zero- 29.9 hours |
Sophomore |
thirty- 59.9 hours |
Junior |
sixty- 89.9 hours |
Senior |
ninety and more hours |
There are specific student populations who may not be given a class rank because there is no intent to earn credit hours towards a degree from the university, e.g. guest students, individuals with degrees, etc.
The purpose of class rank is to define class rank in relationship to the number of semester credit hours earned.
Class rank is determined at the end of the term based on the number of credit hours earned. The university registrar's office officially verifies class rank and any external requests for enrollment status.
