Okla. Admin. Code § 1:2020-31

I, J. Kevin Stitt, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, pursuant to the authority vested in me by Sections 1 and 2 of Article VI of the Oklahoma Constitution, hereby direct the appropriate steps be taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff immediately and until 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2020, in memory of World War II Veteran, Navy Fireman 1 st Class Rex Elwood Wise.

Rex Elwood Wise was just 21 years old when he died December 7, 1941, aboard the USS Oklahoma which capsized at Pearl Harbor on the Hawaiian island of Oahu when Japanese aerial forces bombed the harbor. Personnel with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency identified Wise's remains after examining his dental records. Wise will be buried at the Braman Cemetery, in Braman, Oklahoma, during a military funeral on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Throughout American history, generations of patriots have valiantly served in our military, and sacrificed greatly to protect our country and preserve democracy around the world.

This Executive Order shall be forwarded to the Division of Capital Assets Management, which shall cause the provisions of this Order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of State government.
