Or. Admin. R. 461-165-0120 - Benefits for a Client in an Acute Care Hospital
(1) In the REF, REFM, and TANF programs,
regular monthly benefits continue when a client enters an acute care hospital.
The monthly benefits remain unchanged until the client returns home or enters
some other living arrangement. An authorized representative designated by the
client or the branch may be used if necessary.
(2) In the ERDC program, regular monthly
benefits continue if a client will be in the acute care hospital for less than
30 days. If the client will be in the acute care hospital for 30 days or more
or until death, the client's needs are determined as if the client were in a
nursing facility.
(3) In the GA,
OSIP, OSIPM, and QMB programs, an individual may receive benefits in an acute
care hospital as long as they meet program eligibility requirements.
(4) In the SNAP program, regular monthly
benefits continue if the client will be in his or her own home 50 percent of
the time or more. If the client will be in an institution for more than 50
percent of a calendar month, the client is not eligible for SNAP
benefits.
