Or. Admin. R. 635-042-0100 - Anchovies and Herring Season
(1)
Anchovies and herring may be taken for commercial purposes at any time in the
Columbia River seaward of the Megler-Astoria Bridge with purse, lampara, and
round haul seines of a mesh size not less than one half inch and not over 1,400
feet in length. All other species taken in operation of such gear must
immediately with care be returned to the water.
(2) Columbia River Anchovy Fishery Trip
Limits:
(a) Commercial vessels fishing in the
Columbia River between the Astoria-Megler Bridge and a north-south line through
Buoy 10 at the mouth of the river may land no more than 5 metric tons of
anchovy per day and no more than 10 metric tons of anchovy per calendar week.
(b) For the purposes of this
fishery, a calendar week shall begin at 12:01 a.m. Sunday and run through 11:59
p.m. the following Saturday.
(c)
These limits apply to all catch from any trip on which fishing inside the Buoy
10 line occurs.
