Or. Admin. R. 818-042-0114 - Additional Functions of Expanded Function Preventive Dental Assistants (EFPDA)
(1) Upon successful completion of a course of
instruction in a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
of the American Dental Association, or other course of instruction approved by
the Board, a certified Expanded Function Preventive Dental Assistant may
perform the following functions under the indirect supervision of a licensee
providing that the procedure is checked by the licensee prior to the patient
being dismissed:
(2) Apply pit and
fissure sealants provided the patient is examined before the sealants are
placed. The sealants must be placed within 45 days of the procedure being
authorized by a licensee.
