Or. Admin. R. 860-084-0260 - Interconnection Requirements for Solar Photovoltaic Pilot Program
(1) To be qualified
for interconnected operation, a qualifying system must be certified as
complying with the following standards as applicable:
(a) IEEE standards; and
(b) UL 1741 Inverters, Converters, and
Controllers for Use in Independent Power Systems (January 2001).
(2) A system is considered as
certified to the standards of section (1) of this rule, and the electric
company may not require further design review, testing, or additional
equipment, if:
(a) The system is a complete
equipment package that has been submitted by a manufacturer to a nationally
recognized testing and certification laboratory, and has been tested and listed
by the laboratory for continuous interactive operation with an electric
distribution system in compliance with the applicable codes and standards
listed in section (1) of this rule; or
(b) The system is an equipment package that
includes a generator or other electric source and the equipment package has
been tested and listed as an integrated package in compliance with the
applicable codes and standards listed in section (1) of this rule; or
(c) The certified equipment package comprises
only the interface components (switchgear, inverters, or other interface
devices), and the interconnection applicant has shown that
(A) The solar photovoltaic system being used
is compatible with the equipment package;
(B) Testing and listing of the solar
photovoltaic generator being used, as performed by the nationally recognized
testing and certification laboratory, is consistent with the testing and
listing of the interface component equipment package; and
(C) The testing and listing specified for the
package is consistent with the applicable codes and standards listed in section
(1) of this rule.
(3) A qualifying system may not interconnect
to a transmission line.
