(a) The 1977-78

(Hahnemann Medical College) which provide for funds for the Commonwealth's
medical and osteopathic schools require that as a condition of receiving its
1977-78 appropriation, on or after January 1, 1978, and as a condition its
1978-79 appropriation, on or after January 1, 1979, the schools shall, when
accepting first-year students for the next term, set aside 10% of the total
number of admissions for students who agree that upon the completion of their
medical training, they shall engage in the practice of medicine for a period of
four years in an area termed "medically deprived" by the Pennsylvania
Department of Health.
(b) The
purpose of this chapter is to fulfill the statutory requirement of the
Department of Health to designate "medically deprived" areas in this
Commonwealth.
