S.D. Admin. R. 44:05:04:08 - Ventilation equipment

The following ventilation equipment maintained in good working condition must be available on all ground ambulances:

(1) Fixed and portable oxygen equipment with variable flow regulator;
(2) Oxygen administration equipment:
(a) Oxygen tubing;
(b) Partial or non-rebreathing masks in adult, child, and infant sizes; and
(c) Nasal cannulas in adult and pediatric sizes;
(3) Bag-valve mask in adult, child, and infant sizes hand operated, self-re-expanding bag adult size greater than 1000 ml and child size 450-750 ml that is disposable and operable in cold weather. Bag-valve device shall have an oxygen reservoir and accumulator;
(4) Airways:
(a) Adult, child, and infant oropharyngeal sizes 0-5;
(b) Nasopharyngeal sizes 16F-34F;
(c) Supraglottic airway device;
(d) Tongue depressors: and
(e) Water soluble lubricating jelly.
