S.D. Admin. R. 44:05:04:12 - Immobilization devices
Current through Register Vol. 48, page 106, April 11, 2022
The following immobilization devices maintained in good working condition must be available on all ground ambulances:
(1) Upper and lower extremity immobilization
devices that support the joint above and below the fracture site sized
appropriately for the adult and pediatric patient;
(2) Adult size radiolucent spine boards with
at least three appropriate restraint straps;
(3) Rigid cervical collars for the adult and
pediatric patient or adjustable cervical collars for the adult and pediatric
patient;
(4) Head immobilization
device using firm padding or a commercial device;
(5) Pediatric immobilization device with
appropriate padding; and
(6) Short
immobilization device
