S.D. Admin. R. 44:05:04:14 - Examination equipment and reference materials

The following medical examination equipment and reference materials maintained in good working condition must be available on all ground ambulances:

(1) A sphygmomanometer with adult, child, and infant cuffs;
(2) An adult stethoscope;
(3) A pediatric stethoscope;
(4) Disposable hypoallergenic examination gloves;
(5) Pen light;
(6) Glasgow coma scale reference;
(7) Pediatric trauma score reference;
(8) Pediatric vital signs card;
(9) Thermometer with-low temperature capability:
(10) State defined trauma team activation, criteria;
(11) A length-based resuscitation tape or reference material that provides appropriate guidance for pediatric drug-.dosing and equipment sizing based on length or age: and
(12) Access to pediatric and adult patient care guidelines.
