S.D. Admin. R. 44:05:04:23 - Disposal of medical waste

An ambulance must carry a sealable, puncture-resistant, labeled or color-coded sharps container that meets the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, 29 C.F.R. § 1910.1030 (1992), into which all sharp items which have been exposed to blood or bodily fluids are placed for disposal in conformance with chapter 74:35:01.
