S.D. Admin. R. 67:42:17:37 - Handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials

All toxic or hazardous substances such as cleaners, chemicals, and flammable materials shall be:

(1) Inaccessible to children;

(2) Used according to manufacturer's instructions;

(3) Stored in the original labeled container or labeled if stored in an alternate container; and

(4) Disposed of properly.

Bio-contaminants including blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials shall be handled and disposed of properly.

Diapers must be changed promptly, when needed, in a designated area on a non-porous surface. The diaper changing area must be clean and disinfected through use of an approved sanitizing solution. Diapers shall be disposed of using a plastic-lined, hands-free, covered container.
