Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0400-20-07-.31 - AUTHORIZATION FOR CALIBRATION, TRANSMISSION, AND REFERENCE SOURCES
(1) Any person authorized by Rule
0400-20-07-.10 for medical use of radioactive material may receive, possess,
and use any of the following radioactive material for check, calibration,
transmission, and reference use: .
(a) Sealed
sources manufactured and distributed by persons specifically licensed pursuant
to Chapter 0400-20-10 or equivalent provisions of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission or an Agreement State and that do not exceed 1.11 gigabecquerels (30
millicuries) each;
(b) Sealed
sources, not exceeding 1.11 GBq (30 mCi) each, redistributed by a licensee
authorized to redistribute the sealed sources manufactured and distributed by a
person licensed under paragraph (12) of Rule 0400-20-10-.13, or equivalent
provisions of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission or Agreement State
regulations, providing the redistributed sealed sources are in the original
packaging and shielding and are accompanied by the manufacturer's approved
instructions;
(c) Any radioactive
material with a half-life of 120 days or less in individual amounts not to
exceed 555 megabecquerels (15 millicuries);
(d) Any radioactive material with a half-life
greater than 120 days in individual amounts not to exceed the smaller of:
1. 7.4 megabecquerels (200 µCi );
or
2. 1000 times the quantities in
Schedule RHS 8-30 Chapter 0400-20-10; and
(e) Technetium-99m in amounts as
needed.
