Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0940-05-42-.09 - ORIENTATION
(1) The Facility shall provide orientation to
service recipients within 24 hours of admission for treatment and again within
30 days following the admission date. The orientation shall be designed to
educate the service recipient and ensure that the service recipient understands
the Facility's program.
(2)
Orientation shall be done by a designated staff person who has been determined
to be qualified by education, training and experience to perform the
task.
(3) Facilities shall ensure
that each service recipient signs a statement confirming that the following
information has been explained to the service recipient:
(a) The expected benefits of the treatment
that the service recipient is expected to receive;
(b) The service recipient's responsibilities
for adhering to the treatment regimen and the consequences of non-adherence;
and
(c) An explanation of
individualized program planning.
(4) Facilities shall ensure that each service
recipient signs a statement confirming that he or she has been offered
detoxification services as an admission alternative and that the following has
been discussed with the service recipient:
(a)
An explanation of the types of detoxification services offered by the Facility,
including administrative detoxification; and
(b) An individualized assessment of the
medical risks and benefits of detoxification for the service
recipient.
