Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0940-05-42-.22 - QUALITY OF CARE
(1) The Facility
shall develop and implement a plan for continuous quality improvement. At a
minimum, the plan shall include:
(a)
Structured assessment of the program which addresses Facility program
management, staffing, policies and procedures and general operations.
(b) A service delivery assessment which, at a
minimum, shall evaluate appropriateness of the IPP and services delivered,
completeness of documentation in service recipients' records and quality of and
participation in staff training programs, linkage to a utilization of primary
care and other out-of-program services, and availability of services and
medications for other conditions (e.g. prenatal, tuberculosis, HIV).
(c) An assessment of the aggregate cost of
services per service recipient per week for services rendered.
(d) An assessment of medication-related
issues including take-home procedures, security, inventory and dosage
issues.
(e) Such process shall
serve to continuously monitor the Facility's compliance with the requirements
set forth in these rules. Responsibility for administering and coordinating the
quality improvement process shall be delegated to a staff person who has been
determined to be qualified by education, training and experience to perform
such tasks. The medical director shall be actively involved in the
process.
(f) A Facility shall
participate in additional quality improvement outcome studies as directed by
the SOTA.
