Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 1000-02-.10 - SCHOOLS - EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES
(1) Hospital
Accreditation. - Major hospital facilities used by the program shall be
accredited by the appropriate accrediting agency.
(2) Classrooms. Laboratories. - Classrooms,
laboratories, conference rooms, and instructional offices shall be adequate in
size, number, and type according to the number of students and educational
purposes for which these rooms are to be used.
(3) Library. - An organized and up-to-date
library collection shall be provided for the use of students and
faculty.
(4) Hospital Facilities. -
Clinical resources shall be selected which will provide learning experiences
implied in the stated purpose of the program.
(a) The major clinical facility to be used
for any practical nursing class shall be a general hospital having an average
daily census of at least fifty (50) patients, including outpatient visits and
newborn infants, averaged on an annual basis.
(b) It is essential that two of the major
clinical nursing fields, preferably three or more, be provided at the major
clinical facility.
(c) Obstetric
service used for this program shall be segregated.
(d) Practical nurse students must have an
opportunity to observe effective clinical professional and practical nursing in
the clinical area and must have opportunity to practice effective nursing
within the scope and limit of their instruction.
(5) Reserved for Future Use.
