Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 1140-04-.12 - DRUGS BROUGHT INTO THE FACILITY
(1) The pharmacist
in charge shall establish policies to control any drugs brought into the
institutional facility.
(2)
Administration of these drugs shall be pursuant to a medical or prescription
order.
(3) Drugs brought into the
facility shall not be administered until properly identified.
(4) Drugs which are not to be administered
shall be packaged, sealed, and returned to an adult member of the patient's
family for removal from the institutional facility or the drugs shall be
securely stored and returned to the patient at discharge per facility
policy.
(5) Upon request, the Board
may waive selected portions of these requirements so long as any waiver granted
is consistent with the Board's authority under Tenn. Code Ann. Title 63,
Chapters 1 and 10, and Tenn. Code Ann. Title 4, Chapter 5.
