Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 1200-30-01-.03 - NECESSITY OF LICENSURE
(1) Only persons
who are licensed by the Board may represent themselves or practice as Licensed
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors or hold themselves out to the public as being
licensed by means of using a title on signs, mailboxes, address plates,
letterheads, announcements, telephone listings, business cards, or other
instruments of professional identification.
(2) No person shall hold himself out to the
public by a title or description of services incorporating the words licensed
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor unless he is licensed by the Board. Nothing in
this rule shall prohibit a person from stating or using the educational degrees
which he has obtained.
(3) The
provisions of this chapter do not apply to a person who is preparing for the
practice of alcohol and drug abuse counseling under a qualified supervisor in a
training institution or facility or supervisory arrangement pursuant to these
rules and such person is designated by such titles as "alcohol and drug abuse
counseling intern", "alcohol and drug abuse counseling trainee" or other
designations clearly indicating a training status.
