Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 1660-01-34-.02 - EXPORTATION OF WILDLIFE CARCASSES, PARTS, AND PRODUCTS FROM A CWD MANAGEMENT ZONE
(1) No person may
export a cervid carcass or carcass part harvested from within a CWD Management
Zone unless:
(a) The carcass parts are meat
that has bones removed;
(b) The
carcass parts are antlers, antlers attached to cleaned skull plates, or cleaned
skulls (where no meat or tissues are attached to the skull);
(c) The carcass parts are cleaned
teeth;
(d) The carcass parts are
finished taxidermy and antler products; or
(e) The carcass parts are hides and tanned
products.
(2)
Notwithstanding paragraph (1), the following parties are authorized to
transport cervid carcasses and carcass parts outside of a CWD Management Zone
either to a laboratory or university certified to manage CWD material, or to a
landfill for the necessary disposal of the carcasses and carcass parts, as long
as current best management practices respecting such disposal are followed:
(a) A Tennessee-permitted waste management
company;
(b) Staff from the
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency; or
(c) Any party with whom the Tennessee
Wildlife Resources Agency expressly contracts for the transportation or
disposal of cervid carcasses or carcass parts.
